ZBLEWO COMMUNE.  KOCIEWIE FEELS BEST IN ZBLEWO!

Zblewo Commune invites everyone who wants to relax in the bosom of beautiful nature! Situated in the heart of the Kociewie region, the commune is surrounded by an endless expanse of forests and beautiful lakes. The tourist showpieces include the charmingly located Niedackie Lake with first class water quality and a nice pier, as well as Borzechowskie Lake with its magical Starościńska Island.

THE HEART OF THE KOCIEWIE REGION!

Water trails loved by kayakers flow through the area of the commune, including the Wda river. It is here, in Zblewo commune, where the oldest forest arboretum in Poland, the arboretum in Wirty, is located. It is a unique place with the status of a botanical garden. During the walk, one can admire more than 700 tree and shrub species from the whole world. It is also a wonderful lesson in natural science—all the species are identified in signage. The Wirty Arboretum is a place really worth recommending at any time of year!

Therefore, it comes as no surprise that tourists love this part of the Kociewie region, especially given the fact that it is located close to the Tricity, Bydgoszcz, and Torun. Wonderful relaxation, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, is only one hour away (around 90 kilometres). Zblewo is easy to get to—it is situated on national road no. 22, close to the A1 Motorway. A railway line and a bus route also pass through the town. It is a bike-friendly commune—we have many bike paths and shared use routes for pedestrians and cyclists. On site, it’s possible to rent bikes and water equipment such as kayaks and pedalos.

A TOURIST-FRIENDLY COMMUNE!

On site, there is a rich and well-organized catering and accommodation base: from large, modern recreation centres situated by the lakes, to charming guesthouses and family-run guest-houses with their own beaches, and even environment-friendly and comfortable houses made of thatch! Very few people know that on site there is a local brewery and a wonderful, family-run vineyard. It belongs to the European Network of Regional Culinary Heritage, and these wines are valued not only in Poland, but also in the rest of Europe. Local bakeries, butcher’s shops, beekeepers, and craft shops have been doing business in the commune for many years, and products from Zblewo are appreciated throughout the region.

As usual, we invite you to the Kocievian Fair, which will take place in July. It is one of the biggest summer events in the region, during which you’ll be able to taste local specialties prepared by the Country Housewives’ Club and do many other things besides.
